I know I keep on posting all these school assignments, but I really just haven't been doing much writing otherwise this semester. For this one, we were told to give definition of what we thought hope was in either essay or poem form (rhyme or free verse).
Researching material to use in this was really good for me in several ways. It expanded my realm of thinking beyond a one-sentence description of a single word. Furthermore, I was challenged by the Bible passages I found (mostly in the Psalms). We really need not fear, because all of our hope is not on anything on this earth. Our God is so much bigger than it all. =D
-----------------------------------------
Hope is in tribulation,
Working patience and then experience,
Always growing in the appointed circumstances;
Trying events compass me,
But my Lord is at my right hand,
My soul rejoices in His glory;
Worry is last to do,
The Master has my life planned,
I know he is always in control;
Grace is what will save,
The price of my wicked being was paid,
In this my expectation rises;
The Father assures
My soul will not be left to perish in Hell,
I shall not be afraid;
Trust in the decisions of your Saviour,
God triumphs o’er all else,
Believe all He says He will do.
Confident in what I can’t comprehend,
The love of my Saviour is deeper than I could know,
Faith is my answer;
Hope rests in His promises
Yesterday, today, and forever He is the same-
My soul is in expectation of the living Word.
